Job Summary:
BOSS is seeking a dedicated and organized individual to join our virtual teaching team as a High School Special Education Intervention Specialist. The ideal candidate should be comfortable with technology and have the ability to learn the online instructional tools that BOSS uses. The candidate will engage students in learning through a live, synchronous online learning environment. The Intervention Specialist will instruct students receiving special education services for K-12 in accordance with state content standards using best practices and specially designed instruction, via the Internet and various other distance-learning methodologies.

Key Responsibilities:
Maintain a daily bell schedule and regularly collaborate with students, parents, and staff.
Prepare and update accessible, engaging lessons aligned to Ohio State Content Standards, using accommodations and modifications as needed.
Grade assignments, report modified grades to general education teachers, and ensure IEP accommodations are followed.
Write IEPs, contribute to ETRs, and monitor progress on goals quarterly.
Use varied instructional methods to deliver remediation, enrichment, and interventions.
Administer statewide and district assessments; monitor weekly student progress and participation.
Communicate regularly with students and families to support engagement and achievement; document interactions.
Address academic and behavioral concerns and refer to support services when needed.
Attend family events, field trips, and testing sessions.
Support students with scheduling, technology use, and work habits.
Prepare supplemental resources during tech interruptions.
Participate in conferences, professional development, evaluations, and graduation ceremonies.
Maintain a professional and organized workspace.
Work toward and maintain highly qualified status in all core content areas.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Special Education
Hold a valid Ohio teacher license for K-12 Intervention Specialist or equivalent
Clean FBI/BCI background check
Experience in online teaching is preferred
Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a remote environment
Proficiency in Google Tools
Ability to efficiently learn and apply a variety of online educational tools
Flexibility, adaptability, and a commitment to student success
